Wrestlicious

Wrestlicious fue una promoción de wrestling. 

Tuvo un show televisado llamado Takedown (13 capítulos de 25 minutos) que se emitió entre marzo y noviembre de 2010.

Wrestlicious tomaba el relevo de programas como GLOW, WOW o POWW, wrestling femenino con segmentos de humor cutre con risas enlatadas y muchas chicas en bikini por doquier.

Aunque el show no llegaba a la media hora, los combates no llegaban a los cinco minutos. 

Tenía unas secciones más o menos fijas, como la presentación de Jimmy Hart con chistes tontos...

Y nunca faltó el spotlight, que era una sesión de chica en bikini en la playa:

Los primeros nueve programas fueron grabados en un estudio. El ring estaba más bajo de lo habitual y el público completamente entregado (actores todos, supongo, o gente del staff). 

Los cuatro últimos programas se grabaron en First Avenue Night Club de Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. Un bar con un ring de verdad y público de verdad (no tan entregado pero mucho más realista).

Las luchadoras representaban personajes cliché: la paleta de campo, la chica patriota americana, la mafiosa,...

El programa era muy consciente de sus limitaciones en producción, pero sacaba adelante segmentos con mucho humor absurdo.

A Felony (Rain) la sacaban de la cárcel para luchar

Las Naughty Girls castigadas (sí, son Nicole Matthews y Portia Perez)

Portia Perez era Faith, una mala alumna de una escuela católica

A veces las rivalidades se construían mediante unas viñetas de cómic.

Otras luchadoras que pasaron por Wrestlicious fueron Mercedes Martinez (que fue Maria Toro), Serena Deeb (que era la internauta Paige Webb), Lacey Von Erich que fue ella misma (porque era la única que tenía apellido en el wrestling).

También tuvieron una aparición Amber Gallows (llamada Charlotte), Nevaeh (aquí KickStar Katie) o Leva Bates (aquí se llamó Emo Leigh).

La primera campeona (y única. Y quizás aún vigente) fue Glory. 

Wrestlicious no tenía un cinturón y a la campeona le dieron una tiara.

Si buscan wrestling femenino, vayan a otra empresa. Wrestlicious era otra cosa. Tonta pero entretenida.

El mejor combate de todo la historia de la empresa (eso son solo 13 capítulos 😂) fue, para mi, el Tyler Texas vs. Faith (episodio 12).

El primer programa de Takedown incluía un rap donde las luchadoras presentaban, cantando, a su personaje.
